Christina Childress is an interdisciplinary artist based in Dallas, Texas. She works across a wide variety of media, with a focus on the relationship between humans and the environment. Often utilizing methods of making which reference natural processes, she makes connections between the passing of time and the cycles found in the natural world.

With a professional background in photography and graphic design since earning her BFA from TCU in 2008, Christina entered the MFA program at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2021. Christina’s work spans a wide variety of disciplines, including photography, sculpture, installation, drawing, painting, printmaking, and ceramics. For her, the histories of objects, the sources of natural materials, and the art historical context of different mediums all add their own layers of meaning to a work, which is integral to her practice. She is currently completing her thesis work at UTA, with an expected graduation date in December 2024.
